Running 1:15:00 [3] 10.0 km (7:30 / km)

Regular sunday morning group run with a 3km warm up and 7 km partial group run. Bailed out during the 4km of the group run because I couldn't stand one runner. She started the run with a very obnoxious comment and didn't stop there. By the 4k, I was breathing hard but couldn't stand her comments any longer. So, I bailed and went for the remaining 3km by myself. The most enjoyable run. Don't worry about what others think. If you can't stand them, then leave.

Ice Climbing warm up/down 3:00:00 [3]

First ice climb of the 2010 season. Yeay! Worked on having the right gear, right movement and technique. Just trying to remember what I did last year.

Running 1:15:00 [3] 11.0 km (6:49 / km)

Outdoor run. Paid no attention to pace or time. Just set the 10/1 alarm on and go according to that. Ran down to Cherry beach, Leslie Street and back. Reward was shrimp dumplings. A most enjoyable route before the Pan-Am / West Donland development. I was glad that Toronto has the Pan-Am 2015 Games but I also savour the peace and quiet from the lack of development at the moment. This will not be so after the athlete village so I will enjoy the isolation while I can.

My favourite runs are these zen runs where I just set the 10/1 alarm and run. I need to get back to that and not pay too much attention to pace, workouts, nutrition or anything that is measurable. I don't do it for speed, but to motivate others to go beyond their perceived limits, for self-exploration, and to explore the city/environment.

I should enjoy running because I can.
