Rode from Mentone up Hwy 38 up to Onyx Summit and down into Big Bear and rode around the Lake Via North Shore and back to Mentone.

AP 200
NP 225

The ride started off cool with low dew point, I was very happy with Hwy 38 from up to Angeles Oaks Part of the road has been repaved. About 6 miles from Angles Oaks caught a group of 3 riders, 2 of them good riders and having to stop a few times for the third guy. I past them up and then the 2 riders came back by me about a mile after I past them, I was already pushing 265 - 285 watts and knew there is no way in hell I'm going to go after them if I want to ride to Big Bear. So about 15 minutes later I see both of them pulled over waiting for the other guy and that was last I saw them. Got to Angles Oaks and took a quick picture and then took off for Onyx Summit, man I'm very lucky I was behind a truck and was descending just a few minutes after you leave Angeles Oaks and the truck was going pretty fast when he came by me, which is a 6% decent, I had just looked down at my PM and heard crash and glass breaking and look up quickly and almost slammed into the back of their truck that had flipped on it side because he was going to fast. I swerved into the oncoming traffic and thank god the car was a few hundred yards in front coming the opposite direction or I would probably not be here, either way if I would slammed into the truck, I had to be going 30 +. Made to Onyx Summit and took a picture, but the wind was strong around the 7k marker and windy all the way into Big Bear. Stopped at a gas station and got something to drink and ate a candy bar and then rode around the Lake stopping at East Shore taking pictures at the boat ramp and then stopped again to get nice picture of the snow on the mountain overlooking the lake, stopped at the dam to get a picture and a few other places, then headed back up hwy 38 and stopped for a few minutes to take my base layer off as it was getting little warm, then stopped again in Angles Oaks to get something to drink and eat another candy bar and use the restroom and then to the car. All in all very happy with avg power for this long of a ride and not feeling to bad after. Did stop by Karen's Cousins House for graduation party and ate.

over and unders are never easy, body just didn't have power on the surges, funny when I dropped below 350 it felt so much easier but then mentally staring at the head until knowing I had to repeat was tough. Mentally need to get better at these.
