Mt Palomar South By East Grades Via Rincon

Well decided to do Mt Palomar as I hadn't been on this route in 9 years I think? Started at Kit Carson Park and headed up Bear Valley to Lake Wohlford Rd to Valley Cntr Rd, up South Grade to Mother Kitchen. Was very happy with my power output, I didn't go all out but push little harder than I have and had a avg power 264 and NP 284. Held 290 for 1:25:00. I probably would have done better but my freaking chain keeps popping off, I need a new cage and derail-er, the chain came off 2 times, not good. Took about 3-5 minutes each time to get it back on the pulleys, the second time I thought it broke as I heard a loud pop and no I was not shifting gears at all. My time would have been much better for the strava segment but who cares, I'm old and heavy. Got some nice views at the park which is about 4 miles from the Cafe and Store and then decided to drop down East Grade to Lake Henshaw and got some more nice pictures and views and then climbed back up and down South Grade back to Kit Carson Park. Got a flat tire just after turning onto Bear Valley and then got a little lost but managed to get back to park. All in all biking is getting better.

Legs felt ok, little tired going into second interval block but was ver happy to push higher watts with lower cadence. Funny how the hr does not drift but hamstrings and butt felt it.
