Maple Springs 4 Corners, was going to head to Santiago Peak, but had to cut the ride short to pick up Karen at Airport. MTB skills are improving so I'm happy and enjoying. Was going to ride BlackStar, but some hikers were being rescued. Glad I did this route and was shown Motorway by a few riders. Some new routes to explore. Legs felt ok on the ride but very tired after 22k of climbing for week.

Legs felt good this morning. Well I started at Encanto Park early this morning, when I pulled into the parking lot it was packed with cars, I was thinking there must be a race? Well I talked to the person I parked next to and he said it was there TRI Club. Pretty big group.

Took off and headed out while the sun was just coming up, as soon as I turned onto the bike trail, the wind was blowing right into my face. I was thinking the Santa Ana's are not suppose to start until next week per the news? The wind began blowing harder as I got onto Hwy 39 and began climbing more. I kept looking at my power meter and said I wanted to do Sweet Spot training and wanted to keep it between 300 - 311, well it felt good and it was cold, but then once my body started warming up I felt better and got into a good rhythm. Funny thing was yesterday I brought my bike over to Lens Shop and Jack (Bike Mechanic) was checking out my tires and said I had to big of tires on my bike which were 28s, started looking at the bike frame because the tire on the back kept getting scorch marks, so after looking at the frame it had scorch the frame and took pain off the back tire and into the carbon. And the front tire had some too, and it was probably from climbing. But very happy with my power output from Encanto Park to Crystal Lake Cafe AVG Power 286 and NP was 293. I know I would have had better times that I PR up Hwy 39 if the wind wasn't blowing head on into me. LOL We will use this as a benchmark and come back and show better times then I did today without wind. I'm very confident!!!

Calabasas Peak Loop & Backbone Decent
Good MTB ride today with Brad, Wayne, Daniel, and Scott. Daniel and Scott gave us a tour of their backyard today in the Santa Monica Mountains. Some Challenging accents along with mix of Single track and technical decents. Had great support around me providing good advice all day. Was very happy with the entire ride, did not fall on technical descents or accents, held my line and followed Scott's wheel. This was a confidence boost,. Kept up with the group the entire ride.
