Run warm up/down 10:00 [1]

Orienteering race 1:12:33 [4] **** 6.9 km (10:31 / km) +380m 8:15 / km
spiked:13/15c

Hungarian Cup day 5, long distance H45. Just didn't have the motivation or strength to perform today. Very long and exciting relays yesterday, probably pretty dehydrated and just plain tired mentally and physically. Found myself walking a lot in places where running was certainly possible. Also, just kind of meandered around close to the controls, getting close but then not really spiking anything. 2 smaller (1 min max) mistakes. Very hilly and hot. Otherwise a very enjoyable course and the terrain was the best we have seen this week. Not bad, just not good!

Orienteering race 18:20 [5] ***** 2.6 km (7:03 / km)
spiked:17/18c

Hungarian Cup city sprint in the city of Miskolc. Incredible fun with lots of intricate route choices and picking your way through gates and alleys. Made one small mistake when I misread my map and clue-sheet and ended up on the wrong side of a fence, having to run around quite aways to get to the other side, but in fact maybe 15 sec.

Glad I got this in, as I was thinking about skipping it.

Run warm up/down 10:00 [1]

Orienteering 37:00 [4] *** 3.8 km (9:44 / km) +210m 7:38 / km
spiked:13/13c

Bizarre race at the Hungarian Cup. Had not really enough time to get this in between the Middle Final and the evening Team Leaders meeting, especially since William and I had very late start-times scheduled. But we decided to be creative. We requested earlier start times, "sorry no, but you can take a start-time prior to the first start-time and start late". OK, at least we'll get to run, so we jog off to the start and end up starting about 20 minutes late of our new early start times. Then the course in a very steep hilly area which was actually quite fine, except the leg to no 12 which had 125 meters of our total 210 m climb in it, basically just straight up a very steep hillside. Not the best race of the week or the year but good fun training.

Event: WOC 2009

Run warm up/down 15:00 [1]

Orienteering race 1:01:16 [5] *** 69.0 km (53 / km)
spiked:15/17c

Hungaria Cup day 2, long distance H45. One really bad control, 4-5 minutes lost, plus one more minute sized mistake, otherwise very good. Just didn't contour well and lost about 40 meters of height from #2 - #3. Tough physically with some long climbs. I just have to see it as good training for the fall. Need to get back into shape if I really want this to be fun.

Run warm up/down 15:00 [1]

Orienteering race 35:12 [5] *** 4.3 km (8:11 / km) +175m 6:48 / km
spiked:15/17c

Hungarian Cup day 1 on the WOC middle qual area. Good run except for skipping a control, a short leg before a long leg. Something felt wrong but I just didn't react to the actual mistake. Noticed it as soon as I finished however.

Tired and somewhat stiff but a fun event.
