Day 3: Tern to Islet Lake

Our longest and most gorgeous hiking day. We generally started early to have a nice afternoon in camp and oh yes, get to pick our sites :). The trail runs along Pincher Lake then up to Stammer Lake over an amazing landscape and lookout.

We knew from talking to other hikers that site 3 out of the 5 on Islet was supposed to be quite gorgeous and with a sandy beach. Funderstormin power hiked ahead to grab the site but thankfully got trail news early that the site was taken. We returned to site #2 which was also quite gorgeous (8 out of 10) mainly bc it was next to a swamp and not good swimming access.
That's also where I got bit by the only FDF around! Ha, still not sure where all the buzzers went (probably a convention at Bark Lake) but certainly not in Algonquin!!

Note: Weed Lake only has one campsite that looked good and would avoid the (self inflicted) rush.
