Run #3. Few minutes WU, strides, 5 min @ race pace, 15 min easy, 5 min race pace. Felt good...did this at home so it was hilly and "race pace" was a bit faster than target on the downhills and slower on the uphills.

Marathon simulation run. Goal was: 5 min easy, 45 min MP -10 sec, 1 hr easy, 45 min MP -10 sec, 5 min easy. The first MP segment went well, I averaged about 8:15-8:20. The second segment started out well, but after 15-20 min I just couldn't hold the pace any more and my pace was all over the place, anywhere from 8:30-9:30 (although that section is gradually uphill). This was a really tough run.

VO2 intervals. 15 min WU, strides, then 8x3:30 with 3 min walking in between. Started at 7:04, way too fast. Next couple were 7:09, 7:13, 7:19. Really couldn't hold these paces. Last 4 at 7:24, which seemed hard but doable. 15 min easy jog. I guess last time I did this wasn't a fluke, I just have a hard time with this workout. But I kind of want to keep doing it so I get better at it!

Long run on Bear Creek bike path. Holly was nice enough to forgo her trail run to join me on the pavement. One mile at slightly faster than MP near the end - not the last mile because the last mile is uphill. Made a really stupid mistake today - I must have been distracted when getting ready for the run, because I grabbed the wrong shoes. I brought my screw shoes by mistake! And to make it worse, there were no insoles in them. Got a small blister but otherwise did OK despite all that.
