Adventure Race 16:00:00 [2] 120.0 km (8:00 / km)

Wilderness Traverse course test with Bash & Frankenjack. F&J did all the nav & dialed most everything, great stuff since he'll be sharing the nav with me at RTNX in less than a month. Although Bash is the most humble at discounting her fitness/skill level, she's super-strong right now. We did a terrible job of equalizing weight & when we started I think Bash had the heaviest pack???? F&J & I need to re-consider packs for RTNX, since our plan was to use the gear we'd use there, but when all the gear was in, there was no extra room for any of Bash's (I know, we suck!). I briefly towed & carried Bash's pack, but for the most part she did the whole test with equal amounts of weight to F&J and I, as mentioned above, she's strong right now!

Overall, I'm super happy with how the course turned out. As mentioned in past updates there's a big trek (perhaps the most difficult from a nav perspective of any past 24-36hr races in Ontario (lots of route choice & funky terrain)). While my favourite part could be a night-time paddle, again with intricate nav, which most likely will have a significant impact on the standings.

Really fun weekend, which reminded me why we do these things. A big thanks to Bash & F&J for joining in on the fun.

Mountain Bike 1:30:00 [2] 20.0 km (13.3 kph)

Scouting trails for XC Series at Blue Mountain. There'll be a killer 12k loop this year, which will include part of a medium difficulty downhill run. Lots of climbing too.....

Kayaking 1:00:00 [2] 8.0 km (8.0 kph)

Cobra Surf-Ski in big swells on Lake Ontario. Really weird chop coming from all directions made for good balance practice, but not great speed/effort. When I got up the nerve I dug in to catch a few good surfs, but it was too variable for any big, long rides.
