Was planning a few hour bike ride, but the roads in the Hammer were a mess of slush, so opted for a hilly trail run in Dundas Valley.

Beaver River - upstream from Heathcote for 6k & back. Icicles forming on the gloves & ice collecting on the deck & paddle shaft made for tricky balance.

Beaver River, upstream (against swift current & small rapids) from Slabtown for 43min. & 3.75k then back down. Kinda like hill climbing on bike/foot.....or acting like a Salmon hopping from eddy to eddy....

Gators O-Cup #1
Followed Serghei for the first 4 controls, then lost site of him as he was moving faster than I can right now. Then was mainly using the pack to hone in on CP's up to 6 while reviewing the boxes and planning my routes later on. I owe Simpy a beer for saving me from a nasty spill over a wire/barrier across a road (I had my head in the map, noticed him stutter step then looked up at the last second & just cleared it). Only major mistake (~3min.) was going from a to d in the first box (my route was: b, a, d, f, g, h, e, c), just missed "d" to the south on the first pass, caught the trail, re-searched too far east, relocated on the trail again and finally got it. Rest of the run was reasonable with just a few small mistakes honing in on CP's. Did the 2nd box: C, G, B, D, A, F, E, H.

Thanks to Harps & the Gators for a great course. Good route choices (upon review Serghei & I did the boxes in different order), and also solid distance at ~10k, which I enjoyed.
