Run 1:22:00 [3]

Tracks around Barlow Rd entrance with marathon-man Arthur who's decided to try the Tussock Traverse. Loaned him a camelback which added a few kg on his back and rough underfoot helped even things up a little bit.

Really quite good fun with the rain, puddles and slippery underfoot conditions. I was better going down hill - he was better going up.

For the first time that I can remember I had to take my glasses off because they were completely steamed up and I couldn't see.

Managed to run all the way up the hill to home.

Drank ~300ml
Weight 69.8kg --> 68.9kg - lost 0.9kg

Run 2:53:00 [3]

Riverhead.

A few hills (as you'd expect in Riverhead) - started off running them but ended up having to walk up a few towards the end. Tracks are a bit slippery in places - no surprise as we've had ~6cm of rain in the last few days.

Took an extra loop at the end from Chatham Rd and regretted it - I was tireder than I thought. Had to battle to keep running all the way to the bottom of Zanders Rd (where I'd decided to stop) - the temptation to walk was rather strong, but I resisted.

Drank close to 1.5 litres of replace (one scoop per 500ml) and not too sure that I could've got too much more down. Then weighed myself once I got home - crap, down to 68.8kg. Thought I was 71.5 before I started, but maybe I don't remember correctly - surely I can't have dropped that much weight??

Walk 20:00 [3]

A slightly wobbly, weaving walk up the hill to home

Run (warmup) 30:00 [3] 5.0 km (6:00 / km)

work to Western Springs
6 PM

Orienteering (summer series) 57:01 [3] 8.0 km (7:08 / km)

Western Springs. Chugged along OK, fairly accurate.

Allan was way too fast this week and KT was a few minutes ahead - last week's closeness may have been an aberration
7 PM

Run (warndown) 32:00 [3] 5.0 km (6:24 / km)

Back to work

Not as bad and slow as it could have been although calves were definitely getting tight...

Run (intervals) 48:00 [3]

Domain.

10 x 1 minute intervals with 1 minute light jog in between (note I didn't use the 'S' word)

Followed by 6 x ~22s uphill starting on the minute (giving me ~40s to jog back downhill in between) - up to top of seagull hill (the hill at the back of the wintergarden) from the grandstand side.

Crawled very slowly back to work as my legs had had enough
