Orienteering race (Rogaine) 1:26:00 [3]

Pulpit hills, pulpit rock

Managed to eke out 820 points. A few little whoopsies but nothing too terminal. Even managed to visit control 55 twice at the end!! Didn't cost anything as there were no more controls that I could go for and I still finished with 4 minutes to spare

Run warm up/down (warmup) 10:00 [3]

Jog/walk up to the start

Run 1:00:00 [3] 10.0 km (6:00 / km)
shoes: Asics 1160

10k YMCA run around the domain with a few bods from work.

Keep with the slowies for the first 4km or so then put a burst in for a couple of km's and caught up with the front group (from work, not overall - they'd already finished!) and kept with them to the finish. Had distance markers at 3 and 6km, not too sure how accurate they were but probably close enough

3km ~22 minutes = ~7:20 / km (!)
3km ~17 minutes = ~5:20 / km (some slow)
4km ~21 minutes = ~5:15 / km

Run 8:00 [3]
shoes: Asics 1160

From work to domain as warmup

Walked back

Light easy run with C around Mt Eden streets

Run 26:00 [3]
shoes: Asics 1160

Up Mt Eden to the domain (and yeah, before any says it, I *know* the domain is not at the top of Mt Eden...)

Run 30:00 [3]
shoes: Barefoot

Dropped the shoes off and went for a couple of laps around the road in the Domain. Finished with a lap on the grass with Gene who had just finished doing some rather fast looking 1km reps

There are a couple of rough sections of stone chip in the road and I made the mistake of running over the start of the first one - I'm definitely not ready for that sort of rough surface yet :-( Ended up with a couple of bruises, one under the bit opposite the ball of your foot (so on the outside of the foot) which unfortunately turned into a blister.

So looks like my technique isn't quite right yet - I'm probably pushing off (and twisting?) my foot instead of lifting it cleanly off the ground. Also noticed a little slapping noise on landing that probably shouldn't be there

Oh well, gives me something to work on!

Yoga 1:30:00 [3]

First time ever yoga sesh - interesting!

Not too strenuous, but should help strengthen core and various bits and bobs

Not too sore at all next morning :-)
