Run long 5:25:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Trail Attack 6

Oooo, that was hard. Wasn't feeling all that flash and struggled on the hills.

From cascades went up Upper Kauri, Smythe Ridge then down Kuataika to Anawhata Rd and White tk to Piha where I stopped for a bite to eat at the cafe. Seemed like a lot of tough ups and downs, particularly on Kuataika. Probably wouldn't be so bad if I was feeling better...

Things went downhill for a while after lunch going up Piha Valley and Centennial tracks, got a bit light headed and dizzy, so was quite slow getting up to Anawhata Rd. Gradually felt a bit better once I found some downhills :-)

Finished off with Ridge Road and Fenceline back to Cascades

Run 1:24:00 [3]
shoes: Asics 1160

Was thinking of doing the YMCA 10k however C managed to have an oopsie yesterday stepped back from the mirror in the bathroom, tripped on the cat food tray on the floor and then ended up backwards into the bath. SO with a number of bumps and bruises (especially the lump in the back of her head from the tap) she preferred to come home. Fair enough and bonus, she volunteered to rustle up mexican for dinner. Yum. Who was I to argue?

So ran through riverhead forest starting from the forestry road gate. Loop up to the right, through tracks up to longbush, along long bush, up track to trig, down to barlow, along a bit then hit the trails back to the gate. Up the road to home.

Run 30:00 [3]
shoes: Asics 1160

Cruise a round the domain loosening up the legs which were a little tight after last night

Also had some trouble with lower back - tweaked it while fitting the deck back on the mower, actually had to take it off a couple of times before I got everything right. Carole told be about a magic stretch which seems to release things nicely though :-)

Orienteering race (Summer Series) 1:06:51 [4] 7.3 km (9:09 / km)
shoes: Asics 1160

Craigavon

Went fairly hard to start with - unlike Immy I wasn't planning too much for the hills to come!! Kept up the effort fairly well although was feeling the hills a bit towards the end

Couple of small errors, but was fairly simple nav. Biggest problem was reading the map - my eyes seem to be getting worse, especially under the trees where it gets a bit dark
