Run long (Hills) 1:37:00 [3]

Managed to get a leave pass between opening prezzies and having lunch. So with strict instructions to make sure I was back in time for lunch, headed off to Mt Kaukau from Churton Park.
Legs were feeling good to start with even after the long drive yesterday although right hip flexor had gotten a bit uncomfortable during the drive - this is something I've noticed happening this year, maybe something to do with having to hold my leg up a little - might benefit from a small cushion to support my leg?
In any case, the legs feeling good didn't last all that long - the hills soon sorted that out!! Didn't quite find the best way through Johnsonville - every corner seemed to bring another hill (either up or down) and then spotted what I thought were marker posts on the farmland. 'Aha!' I thought, scrambled up a rather dodgy and slippery steep slope behind a house that was being built only to find that the posts were a derelict fence - d'oh! Oh well, carried around, up and over the hill and eventually came onto the real track.
Beaut views from the top of Kaukau - all the way across to the South Island with a touch of snow still on the Inland Kaikouras.
Back largely the way I came with a better exit off the hills onto the streets (definitely wouldn't fancy going down the way I had come up!)
Tough 700m climb up Waverton Tce to finish me off
