Note

Problems with low water pressure up at the house (well actually, it was more that there was low flow - flow and pressure were good for a few seconds then flow drops off) and as it's rather close to Christmas, can't get a plumber (as expected).

So did a wee interweb trawl and discovered that the first gizmo in the pipework was actually a filter. What's more it has a tap on top that you turn off, then unscrew the filter from the bottom, clean, screw back on, turn tap on. Easy. Turns out there was a pile of thin strips of plastic and stuff gunking up the wee stainless filter, cleared that and bingo! Back to normal ;-)

Cheaper and much more satisfying than getting the pros in!!

MTB 2:18:00 [3]

A few loops and ups and downs on the Riverhead tracks before hitting the road over to Long Bay for a nice refreshing swim with a bit of body surfing thrown in for good measure. Nice

~1:22 in forest
~0:56 on road

Run warm up/down 7:00 [3]

Warmup and token warmdown

Orienteering race (summer nav) 31:47 [4]

Big King - course 2

Went fairly hard and managed to run up most of the hills (although suffered a bit) so I reckon it qualifies as intensity=4

Botched one control though, took a bad route choice around the left of a depression instead of backtracking slightly and going more direct. Meant that I ended up going to the left of a green patch instead of the right and compounded that by ending up by the water tank which, of course, was at the top of the hill. Where the control wasn't.

MTB 1:35:00 [3]

Riverhead

Took Rob's advice and put the MTB back together and went for a ride revisiting the areas I went through yesterday

Balance was way off t start with but got better. Bike was OK even with broken tooth on middle chainring and broken pulley on derailleur - going to have to check wiggle out as bike shop quote was a wee bit dear...

Run 1:00:40 [3] 9.9 km (6:08 / km) +210m 5:32 / km
shoes: Asics 1160 (#2)

Aimed to do short loop from home however was stymied by logging on trig rd. As it was my legs had started struggling on the last hill, so time enough to ease off

Run 48:00 [3]
shoes: Asics 1160 (#2)

Ducked down hanson rd to avoid the logging however ended up in places I didn't recognise - there seem to be a bunch of new tracks including a new pontoon bridge over a swamp
Ended up taking 39 minutes to get back to the top of barlow - it would have taken no more than 10 minutes if I'd been able to go over trig rd

Walk 25:00 [3]
shoes: Asics 1160 (#2)

and a bit of walking...
