Legs died. Again. Made the last ~20km rather slow and a bit painful. Normal stuff - hip flexors, adductors, knees etc. Didn't have to resort in walking sideways and backwards this year though...

Wasn't so happy immediately after the race however thinking about it a bit, I didn't do so badly - 60km is still a long way for me to run. Thought the training went reasonably well this year considering that I almost withdrew from the event before Christmas. Even so I was 48 hours down on volume compared to last year (99hr vs 148hr) so that wouldn't have helped.

Nutrition worked a lot better this year. I've been having trouble eating bars (eg OSM's) so swapped to gels (replace and hammer) and that seemed to work OK. I also got a new bag which worked pretty well and made it real easy to access gels etc.

One thing is that I just may be running too fast to start with. I've been pretty consistent getting to Okataina: 2011@5:15, 2012@5:19 and 2013@5:17 however it may be that I'd be better off going a bit slower to keep more in reserve for the last third which is where I leaked a lot of time
