Note

Booked flight to Aus for the Aussie champs in Sep/Oct

And for a bit of fun (of course this does depend on your definition of fun) entered myself in the Kauri Ultra in Nov and managed to convince C to do the 23km as well

Probably oughta figure out some sort of training plan methinks as the Kauri is gunna be one tough ol' day out...

Run (Street rogaine) 2:34:00 [3] 21.1 km (7:18 / km) +380m 6:42 / km
shoes: Asics 1160 (#3)

Can't really call a street rogaine orienteering so logged as running although to be fair I still managed to stuff up a couple of controls. 'Twas a pity one stuff up consisted of running down portland rd pretty much to the bottom and then back up to the top again...

Quad just above left knee gave a bit of grief for the first 5-10 minutes then came right however came back for a revisit after ~1:40. After the portland rd fiasco decided that it really wasn't at all comfortable so best to bail so I walked/hobbled back to base

Should have known better as legs were complaining a little after Tuesday's hard hill run - adductors particularly are a bit sore and cranky - so a 3 hour rogaine probably wasn't all that smart (particularly as I started out a little too hard)

A couple of days rest required to settle the legs down then we'll see how they go

Run hills 59:08 [3] 10.2 km (5:48 / km) +310m 5:02 / km

Blitzed it - best time by over 4.5 minutes. Maybe the howling wind helped me focus on working harder. And as a bonus somehow managed to avoid the horizontal rain and pea sized hail
