Orienteering race (Turkey Ridge Rogaine) 1:28:13 [3] 9.3 km (9:29 / km) +252m 8:21 / km
ahr:156 max:174 shoes: Vibram 5 finger

Good underfoot conditions so, seeing as I blew up my innov8's at the riverhead rogaine, went for the five fingers. They worked very well actually for that terrain - only a couple of small sections that had a lot of branches etc on the ground. One small bruise under R arch where I'd gone through what had started off as a very clean felled area but degenerated into a bit of a wood pile!

Had two 40 pointers to possibly get at the end so went for 41 with a chance of getting 42 (so I thought). No chance - taking a not very good route choice up the 110m hill to 41 meant that I had quite a bit of scrambling in soft sand. Still, got back in time with a bit of a mad dash down the hill - it's SOO much easier running down..

hip flexor wasn't feeling too good so bailed on my normal cox's creek run. Had to stop a number of times to try to relieve it - stretching and pressure points - which sort of worked, but not for long. Managed to hit the right spot once where the pain completely disappeared, could lift my leg no problem :-) However only lasted about 300m :-(
