Orienteering race 1:42:26 [4] 14.62 km (7:00 / km)
ahr:163 max:180 shoes: Inov8 Oroc 280s

Queens Birthday Day 2 on Whites Line, Woodhill. My leg was quite sore throughout, especially running through the physical terrain of the coastal block and thinned forest. Lost a bit of time with bad route choices, and could have run faster if my leg had not been so sore. Had a fastest split though!

Sat out the relay to rest my leg

Orienteering race 1:31:02 [5] **** 15.24 km (5:58 / km)
ahr:159 max:183 spiked:21/30c shoes: Inov8 Oroc 280s

Queens Birthday Day 1 - Telephone Track, Woodhill Forest

Unfortunately my Garmin didn't work (I cant import the route). Had good plans for most of the legs, but I lost it a little bit in the circle. My bearing was a little off on 2, but I quickly readjusted. Hesitant in the circle on 3, 4. Could have picked an easier route for navigating if I'd used the hill to the south, rather than 4. Hesitant on 9 and on the wrong part of the slope for 11. Ran off in the wrong direction on 12 after crossing the slope, and lost some time not understanding the map. Drawn a little left on 17 by another runner. Took a while to understand the map on 23, but was fine for the rest.
4 PM

Orienteering 21:05 [3] 3.49 km (6:02 / km)
ahr:160 max:168 shoes: Asics Gel-DS Trainer

Sprint Race at Massey University, Albany Campus. Cruised around the course as my ankle had seized up after rolling it earlier in the day during the long. My navigation was mostly fine, but occasionally I failed to notice small areas of olive green until they were right in front of me. Would have been quite a tricky sprint at speed. Lost a few seconds on 4, left would have been faster around the building. I also almost went down the wrong path on the way to 8, but realized quickly

Running 1:10:43 [4] 13.84 km (5:07 / km)
ahr:156 max:179 shoes: Mizuno Wave Inspire 6s

Hill reps, in the dark. Finally got my Garmin to work, I think it can do normal timing but no advanced workouts or interval sessions. It also can't import onto the computer. 5 x 6min uphill with 4min recovery. Ran out of hills after the 3rd rep (was at the top) so I had to do an extra long recovery to run all the way to the bottom.

Running 40:00 [3] 5.74 km (6:58 / km)
shoes: Mizuno Wave Inspire 6s

Garmin is broken again, froze as soon as I tried to start the activity. 8 x 30sec pretty-much full out, almost spun out on the corner after running solid down-hill.
