Pretty destroyed on the start line and made a tactical decision not to smash it. I knew it was 14 seconds back to 7th place but there was no way I wanted to fight with him. Then it was 6 minutes until 8th place and I figured if I jogged I could keep 7th. Feels a bit like I cheated by just jogging and still getting 7th, when there were people starting after me smashing it, but I couldn't have run hard. I was just so destroyed after the whole month of racing/training/Europe. Results…

Really should post these maps but its kind of just depressing. I got so tired towards the end of O-ringen that I couldn't run well. Ran cleanly but without any energy, and was basically just trying to get to the finish to end the suffering.

An ok race in the 3rd stage of O-ringen. I had some pretty poor controls but mostly it was good. Didn't have such a good feeling today so I tried to avoid climb as much as possible which I think helped. Dropped a few seconds on 2 but then 4 has horrible. I thought I saw the open land/distinct vegetation boundary to the north so I swung left, but in fact I was drifting way off line. Then at 10 I think it was faster to run left as the slope was really slow, and when I came into the control area I had no idea where I was. Managed to come 4th, my best result so far, so that was alright.

A much better race for me in the second stage of O-ringen. Really managed to connect with the map better than yesterday and had some more flow with my orienteering. Also felt much better physically, despite my cold, and really just had a good feeling while running. Still lost some time but I came 6th, a big improvement on yesterday. The area was slightly less rocky so the runnability was better. Ran through a lot of runners too which is always fun. Results…

I didn't have a very good race in the first stage of O-ringen. On the way to the start I got a really sharp pain in my chest which wouldn't go away. It was like a stitch, only worse, and much higher up than usual. Like my heart was being squeezed or something. I got to the start 10 minutes early and because of my chest decided to just stand there and hope it went, rather than run or do any drills like usual. The pain was just too excruciating. I started and the pain was gone, but I wasn't ready to run, and it slowly crept back until by the end of the course it was completely back. The race was also pretty poor technically. I drifted too far right to 1 (parallel error with the drink station). A bit off on 4, and then I just ran past 5. I had contact to the east-west cliff before the control and then I just dropped too much. Going to 12 I drifted too far left, and was a bit off in the circle at the 14th. Not very happy with how I ran, and I came 12th. Got a bit of a cold coming on too. Aiming for a faster, more aggressive start (and hopefully entire race) tomorrow. Results…
