Orienteering race (Long-O champs) 2:21:45 [5] *** 18.5 km (7:40 / km) +490m 6:46 / km

Terrible start. Miss-read a road and got completely thrown off. At least 5 minutes lost to #1. Settled down well after that and felt good for the next 15 or so controls. Felt like things were going well. Was too high at 17 and again too high to 18. Went to the wrong cliff at 22. My legs started to die horribly towards 27. Took strain and started to cramp on the downhill run to 30, and then tried my luck to get through the bracken fern clump just before #30. Very bad choice! Probably lost a good 4-5 minutes. Super frustrating right at the finish! In summary a decent run except for #1 and #30. 8 minutes behind Tim and only 2 behind Brad. Happy with the result considering the lack of orienteering lately. My feet and ankles took some serious knocks. Will be very interested to see the splits...

A failed attempt at Midsteam track on Tuesday due to a rugby festival meant i was back on the dirt road around the pivot at The Coves. Felt pretty good, but the legs and lungs were unable to really push it in the last 800. Time is slightly slower than the last 2 TT's. Not great, but not losing massive time...

Auto lap 400 times: 1:18, 1:24, 1:26, 1:29, 1:29, 1:30, 1:31, 44s last 200.
