Mountain Bike race (AC4S reunion race) 1:27:00 [3] 21.5 km (14.8 kph)

Adventure Challenge for School Reunion race at Stanford. Big gathering and braai on Saturday night, and then a fun race against the school teams on Sunday. Teamed up with Ryan G, Sarah H and Carrie M. We were the only "old boys" and "old girls" keen to race. The rest were nursing hang-overs from the night before! Such fun, but slow going on the bikes. Sarah and Carrie pretty much haven't ridden a bike since school... We plodded on, and came in 5th place off the bikes. Whole race on one GPS track.

Trail Run race (Go-kart) 19:00 [4] 2.8 km (6:47 / km)
shoes: Salomon sense Pro Blue

Now this was k@k. Pushing a go-kart with 1 driver around a bumpy grassy route, in 30 deg heat... Still in 5th place in the end, but not really pushing too hard, just having a fun day out!

Transition race (Climbing) 10:00 [1] 0.0 km

2 members from each team had to climb the climbing tower. Carrie and Ryan climbed, and did an awesome job of it! Passed 2 teams and up to 3rd. I chilled and drank Super-M...

Trail Run race (Orienteering) 49:00 [3] 6.1 km (8:02 / km)
shoes: Salomon sense Pro Blue

6 check points on the Stanford O map. Easy jog around the forests collecting the points. Passed the school team in 2nd place who were not too sharp on the nav. Up into 2nd place.

Swim race 11:00 [2] 0.5 km (22:00 / km)

Final leg - swim out to the floating tower on the lake, climb up the tower, jump from about 5m, and swim back. School team behind us closing in with flippers on (we didn't get that memo...), so a dice for the line, but we edged them. Such a fun race and good comradery. Good to catch up with many old friends. The Stanford team that took the win were very fast on the bikes, deserved win and had a huge lead off the bike ride which was way too big to close down. Beers went down a treat at the finish.
