Beautiful ski from P10. Came across an injured skier on the way back. Got really cold waiting for the ski patrol sled. So had to fill up on goodies from the Chelsea bakery to protect my core temperature. Won't weigh myself today.

Sidewalks slushy so stayed on road when I could. Ski tracks at MB were washed out but some people were skiing. Need some fresh snow - fast!
More rain expected this week - the skate-O may bever happen!

A lazy day - feeling tired after yesterday's long skate. Pouring rain then snow, then freezing rain. Canal closed, ski trails unskiable, roads treacherous. To make things worse, we confirmed that our old mechanical IKEA scale is 5 pounds light. Or, in other words, I am an extra 5 pounds fat! Man, I will be skin and bones if I make it down to <70 Kg.

Great skate with "field checking" the skate-O map. Almost finished. Need to find a half dozen more interesting or fun control sites.
Glutes and aductors really stiff by the end - almost cramping - but I think I stretched well. Will know in the morning!

Wanted to do a walk/run but everything is frozen over. Skiing was icy too.
Only a short stretch. Hip is very sensitive, can't sit 30 minutes without a stretch.
Should probably get back to Ath. Therapist.

+2C and sloppy footing on the sidewalks so I stayed on the road where I could. Good stretch afterwards.

Hips are sore today after yesterday's skate. To add insult to injury I slipped in the parking lot and pulled the right one a bit. Pouring rain on top of existing ice this afternoon so forget skiing/skating and even walking.

Canal was 2/3 open and in good shape. Wanted to do some "field work" on the canal map but it was too cold on the hands to do very much.
Was able to push off better than last winter so I was able to get my heart rate up.

Ski-O at Keogans. 3K up and back and then the short course in 41 minutes. Very slow, but I stopped to explain ski-O to tourers, explained that ski-Oers were coming through the biathalon race to officials, fell over a couple of times, took my skis off at one sharp downhill, and had to retie my boot laces. Otherwise a very focussed race - except for the big route choice error to #7. Thanks to Bill M. for setting it all up.

Canal was in poor shape. Wanted to do a few loops of the section that was open but it was too risky. Two waterings away from being good.

So I added in a 30 minute spin just to burn off lunch.

The rain from last night has really messed up the tracks at Mooney's Bay. Even with some grooming it was like skiing on granulated ice chunks. After 2 loops my wax was finished. Too bad as it was sunny and not too cold.
Reasonably good stretch and some weights afterward.

New storm has hit so took an easy spin. Travis worked hard on my glutes this morning so I am sore. Back needed to be released too. Probably from shovelling yesterday.
Trying to limit my caloric intake. Feeling hungry all the time. After a good diet day yesterday I was starving at bedtime so I caved and had a bagel!

Very cold, brisk walk. Footing was poor. Canal is now partly open. Looking forward to seeing what I can do on skates!

Good stretch - no strength. Back is stiff but hips are fine.

Still really cold in Ottawa (-17) but the sun and fresh snow made up for it. Not great glide except where the sun had an impact. Again, rushed my stretch due to poor schedluing.

First ski-O in a couple of years. Beautifull day. Tracks were fast. I had a hard time keeping my breathing under control as I knew I should ski faster. Puffing along fine until #10 when I reaized I had lost my SI. Found it back at #9 but the return trip cost me about 15 minutes. Great fun in any case.

First ski in Gats from P10. Took it easy. Yak at gossip corner with Jacks. Lost Jennie - she came back after dark. : )
Straight ahead classic feels good. Chicken on hills when pressure is on hip.
Up 3 Kg from November. Standard holiday result. Target is 68 (150 lbs) by my birthday in March. Hide the left-overs!
