Nice ski around VM after driving up to Nakkertok without skis!
Hip is fine but back is a little sore. Nice to actually work my aerobic non-capacity. Hope to get out at least every other day until I leave for SA.

XC Skiing 1:00:00 [3]

First ski of the season in VM park. Trails were soft with all the new snow but they are actively grooming. Took it easy - didn't have much choice, gained a few pounds over Xmas and I haven't had a good aerobic workout in a long while. It was beautiful and I wanted to do more but I think I stopped just in time. Too many flu/cold bugs around to afford to get run down.

Revelstoke walk on a cold, wet evening. Didn't feel great afterwards which is not usual. I usually feel invigorated. Poor sleep last night I guess.

Freezing rain outside so another indoor spin. Rushed the stretch/strength. snow in the forecast to-morrow - but will it stay?

More spinning - roads and side walks are icy - forget running in the dark.
Good burn and sweat on this one. Pretty good stretch and strength afterwards.
Thouhgt hip would be cranky from yesterday but it was fine. Down a couple of pounds since last week - the lower carbs are working.

Mapping up at Nakkertok. Very mild - the trees were dripping on my easel.
Good stretch when I got home. Hip is sore - I think I damaged it when I jumped down from the ladder at home - I could feel a twinge.

Good spin with the Allman brothers on the headphones. Followed by a good set of stretch n strength. Weight down a bit but more resolve will be required as a Christmas supply of sweets is now available thanks to Mumsey.

Crank up the headphones - Dire Straights, Steve Winwood, Dave Matthews, and a little bit of Scott Cossu to settle down. Air guitar, air Hammond, air sax, air drums. Time sure flys by!
15 minute stretch & strength - gently.

Relatively easy spin on the basement bike. Feeling tired after last nights party - poor sleep. Must have gained 3 pounds in one meal. Planned to ski but we had rain all afternoon. Looks like a frozen mess for at least the next 4 days.

Spin with audio and news on the TV. After 3 sessions with the spinning audio I am already bored with it. Having learned what they do in a class I can go back to my favorite music, my heart monitor, and pretend I am crossing the Alps. Or the Rockies. Or PEI.

Brisk walk with mumsy on Revelstoke loop. No mountains this time. Low carb diet is slowly taking shape. Noticed already that lower volume of food is starting to feel better - although there are times when I want to snack. Drinking tea instead of snacking.

Downloaded a set of audio spinning classes to try and spruce up my spins. The spinning part was easy but the up and down part was hard! I think I am going to need some exciting video to get me motivated.
The sports doc didn't find much change in the hip flexibility. She thinks the doc hit a nerve at the last synovial fluid injection that caused so much pain. I will make sure I go to the General next time.
She is not keen on me running. If it hurts while I run - stop. If if hurts afterwards - take a pill. If I could get on the skis I would be happier.

Good sweaty spin in the afternoon. No twinges or extra stiffness so wondering where to go from here? With skiing on hold, I need an outdoor aerobic activity. Have an afternoon appointment with the sports doc. Will ask her about alternatives - she has generally not been keen on my running with the wonky hip.

Beautiful mild day. Feeling tired so just a nice walk to the beach. Had a couple of shots today for the cruise. Feeling a little "funky" - some kind of re-action? think I will sleep well tonight.

Brisk walk with mumsey around Revelstoke loop and one Mt. Mooney. About 6 km. Read "wheat belly" today, makes a lot of sense. Didn't enjoy my bagel so much at lunch. Think we are going to go on a wheat fast and see what happens.
