Short session at Nakkertok in the colourful woods. Felt ok this morning but a cold is definitely settling in. Rats! Hip was fine, but I will take tomorrow off and get caught up on paperwork.
Beautiful day up at Nakkertok. Nobody around, just a billion geese on their way south. When they took off from the lake the noise was deafening. I guess winter is coming. Mapping days are numbered but with the woods thinning out, it's the best time.
Another beautiful day up at Nakkertok. Mostly nice woods along the power line but my hip stiffened up before I could finish that section. Dirk continues to build new trail loops and connectors that I have to get on the map before the next event.
Used the club ATV to get over to the east edge of the Nakkertok property. Fallen trees halted my progress so I hiked the last 300 metres. Didn't get a lot done. The LiDAR didn't make sense on one hillside that had several depressions and form line knolls. Spent a lot of time figuring it out. Woods were beautiful though. Day off tomorrow.
Pushed as hard as I could without aggravating the hip. Wished I had rushed just a bit harder as Bert beat me by 5 seconds for third place! ; )
Easy area, but I still messed up by 3-4 minutes. Dead tired, but enjoyed it a lot. Lousy weather but good atmosphere.
