Stationary Bike 45:00 [2]

Good spin solidly in zone 2 when I wasn’t in low zone 3. Call feel it in my lungs. I haven’t exerted myself in a while. Hip feels fine. Six minute stretch for the quads, Achilles, calves, etc.

Stationary Bike 50:00 [2]

-20C outside so it was a spin at the club. The longest so far and except for some stiffness in the quads it felt ok.
5 minutes stretch afterwards.

Walking 1:02:00 [1]

Bitterly cold but only a little wind and bright sunshine so it as an enjoyable hike with brother in law Geoff, here for the Anderson-Rankin-Collins family Christmas. 5km is not nearly enough to make up for all the calories consumed in the last 24 hours.

XC Skiing 25:00 [1]

Yay - first (almost) painless XC ski since two winters ago. Mind you, the glutes are humming and will want some special attention. Had the energy to do more but I could feel that the hip area was weary.
No surprise - my conditioning is terrible - stopped many times to catch my breath and enjoy the moment. Sunny, -6C , no wind, the only sounds were the distant giggles and hoots from the kids tobogganing on Mount Mooney.

Walking 1:01:00 [1]

A pleasant walk on the Revelstoke loop. Can't say my stride is fully relaxed and extended but it is slowly getting better. Still some cramping in the lower leg but seems to be receding too.

Walking 1:01:00 [1]

Very cold but no wind so it was a pleasant walk around the 5k Revelstoke loop. Possibly the easiest too since the operation. Was able to stride out without pain or stiffness. Good stretch afterwards but the glutes are letting me know they will be sore later.

Walking 33:00 [1]

Feeling better today but something is still hanging around in my chest. Sleeping better. Easy walk over to the park. Still not enough snow to set classic tracks.

Walking 31:00 [1]

For the second week in a row, my cold relapsed over a Monday night. Felt like a new cold was starting. So I went back to bed and slept for an hour after 2 morning coffees. That is not like me.
Rainy weather in the afternoon but I started my walk just as the temperatures dropped and everything turned to ice. So I cut the walk short and came home for a good stretch and a hot bath. With eggnog. Feel better now.

Walking 59:00 [1]

Cold but sunny walk through the park. No coughing but still congested. Good stretch afterwards

Walking 1:03:00 [1]

First real exercise all week. Been dragging my butt around with a re-lapse of last week`s cold.

Walking 57:00 [1]

No wind today so the beach/Park walk was very pleasant at +1C. Still some cramping in the lower leg but it seems to be declining. Can’t move quickly though without agrivating the hip.

Walking 1:01:00 [1]

Feeling better today after a restful nights sleep. I started out into the wind and then it started to snow. Almost turned around but once I turned away from the wind it was fine. Good stretch afterwards.

Walking 58:00 [3]

Still sick so it was an easy walk down the beach and around VM park. Right calf cramped up just 5 minutes into the walk but I was able to stretch it out. A very cold wind from the West foretells some frigid weather moving in. Hitting the in-between season when you can't walk and can't ski. Back to the exercise bike.

Walking 1:04:00 [1]

First 5K walk around the Revelstoke loop. Leg cramped up a bit after 5 minutes but I was able to stretch it out and it was fine after that. Stopped a couple of times just to relax. Glute tightened up but I never had a limp.
First real exercise in a couple of days. The chest cold still lingers but the fresh air felt good.
