Stayed in zone 1 all the way except when I tried one of the preset Tour de France sections - the Col de La Colombiere. That only lasted 30 seconds.
Good stretch afterwards. Back feels better after two very stiff days.
I wanted to go longer but I developed a cramp in my calf and had to stop and stretch it out. Stayed in zone 1 virtually all the time.
Swimming10:00 [2]
The swim didn’t bother the calf so it was enjoyable. Tried a couple of lengths of breaststroke but the hip is not strong enough for a good frog kick.
Looking forward to stronger swims in the future.
Nice temperature but very greasy roads and sidewalks were hard on the legs/ankles. Just a bit of cramping in the lower leg too. Good stretch afterwards and a hot bath to soothe my funky back muscles.
Finally some agreeable temperatures. So I headed over to the park for a short ski on the waxless skis. Skis were very slow but I was slower. So out of cardio shape. Never really got into a rhythm.
Still, it was very nice to be outside and breathing (rasping) in the fresh air.
A nice walk after a couple of days feeling crappy. Mouth is sore, I can’t exert myself because of potential gum bleeding and now my back is acting up. And the ghost of Xmas feasts still hang around my gut.
Milder weather and a lot of new snow will get me out on the skis tomorrow.
