Running race 47:03 [5] 7.5 km (6:16 / km) +439m 4:51 / km

5 peaks trail race at the Canmore Nordic Centre. Wasn't sure that I was going to run it as my back has been acting up again. Decided to run the "sport" distance instead of the enduro. A beautiful fall day in the mountains. The sun came out and it sure didn't take us long to get warmed up! A challenging race with some good technical single track downhill and uphill sections. Wore my Oroc shoes and they were great! Felt more confident on the steep, muddy downhill sections. 4th place in my age group. 4 minutes behind the top woman. Top 2 fastest womans time were in my category. I guess I will have to train to get to that level! Not bad for not much running! I owe a lot to the Tabata Interval training.

Running 1:00:00 [4] 8.4 km (7:09 / km)

Trail run in the Weaslehead area. Lots of good hills on the one stretch. Very muddy. Oh what fun! Saw 2 deer and a bald eagle. Looks like fall out here now!

Weight training 40:00 [3]

Semi private weigth workout with Lynnell. Worked on squat form, lunge form and dead lift form. To improve posterior chain strength and hopefully improve my running. Tough work with something seamingly so simple!

orienteering long 1:14:00 [5] 7.0 km (10:34 / km)

Club Champs Long at Nose Hill. Okay, those hills reallllly kicked my butt! Shadowed Tyson on his course first and I was already tired! Made two big mistakes. First was on the longest leg. Took a bad route choice and got up too high. Second mistake was in a tricky area of trees and again I tried to take a shorter route but ended up too high. Had many good controls though. Very tired afterwards. I guess that is good.
