Running race 47:45 [5] 6.84 km (6:59 / km) +237m 5:57 / km

Okay, that was a challenge for sure. Wore my NB winter shoes with the spikes. Definitely needed them! Stayed with Andree for the initial loop. Things were working out well. Then we hit the bike path and Andree very wisely passed 3 or 4 people and before I could react 2 people passed me, leaving me no where to go and no room to pass until some time later. Andree gradually lengthend her lead, and by the time I got by the older gentleman there was no way I had it in me to make up any ground. I felt like Bambi learning to walk in some of the trails with the soft snow. Andree told me she had asked Santa for a victory and she got it! Half way through the race I decided to ask Santa to let me finish the race without injuring my knee or ankle. I got that to, so I guess it wasn't all bad!

Weight training 45:00 [3]

More upper back work. My upper back is not moving too well this week. Not sure why.

Tabata Interval Work 45:00 [4]

Thought I would miss the killer leg work out from last Friday. Unfortunately Lynnell changed things up and we got to do that workout today! How fortunate! Actually it wasn't quite as bad. The 20 sec. sprints on the bike for 4 minutes was still horrible. I just keep thinking "this must be good for me!"

Night Orienteering 55:00 [4] 7.0 km (7:51 / km)

Night O in South Glenmore Reservoir. A beautiful starry night with some moonlight! The trails were great. Only a few places where I broke through the packed snow. Felt kind of alone out there running in the woods at night! Heard the coyotes howling. Made me run faster! So much fun!

Tabata Interval Work 45:00 [4]

Okay, I feel really tired today! 20 sec-10 sec intervals, 5 exercises 4 rounds. The jumping side to side and forward and back was a killer today. My legs are like lead!

Down Hill skiing 4:30:00 [3]

Down Hill skiing at Norquay. Kyle and Alanna boarding. Good temperature, some light snow. Icy on the step sections, but pretty good cover on the runs they have open. A fun day! No knee brace. Felt fine.
