Running race (x-country/trail race) 48:53 [5] 8.14 km (6:00 / km) +69m 5:46 / km

CRR Weaselhead X-country race. Perfect temperature. A little windy for the first 800 m until we got into the trees. The open field running was really snow covered and no footing! I certainly didn't make up any time on this section. Got in a bit of a train once in the trees and this was good for a ways. Passed a few people but couldn't keep in touch with Sandy S. Pulled a young female runner along until just after the brdge crossing of the marsh. She pulled ahead, and I just couldn't go with her. Picked up a with others on the way back to the finish. Didn't think that the trail was ever going to end. Just when you thought you had climbed the last hill....of course there was another. Tough run in to the finish with the bottomless snow through the open field. Generally a good run. I worked hard for sure!

track interval training 1:15:00 [4] 8.5 km (8:49 / km)

3 warm up laps then up to do some core work for 15 minutes. Track intervals-3 1500 m at 80-90%. Was not sure how I would feel doing this after my long run yesterday, but it was okay. Kept them pretty consistent in terms of time and heart rate. The track is not my fav. for sure, but speed work is a necessary evil I guess! Where was Marion?

My long slow recovery run for the week. It finally warmed up for me! Along the Bow on the south side to Shouldice fields. Back along the North side of the Bow. Windy in places heading west, but generally very nice. Ran 10 and 1's much of the way. Headed up the bluff hill at the very end and then down on an icy path which was a little harry, but I managed! Felt okay at the end. We will see what tomorrow holds.

snowshoe Orienteering race 3:18:08 [0] 8.95 km (22:08 / km) +290m 19:03 / km

Snowshoe O! What a fun event. Marion O. was my partner. Made a few route choice errors where we ended up in the deep snow, but we did get them all! It took us a few times to learn to stay out of the more open areas as the snow was really deep there. Better off staying in the green! A good workout for sure! Cold to start out, but we warmed up quickly with our first good climb. Nicki and Jen won in 2 hr. 15 min.!
