orienteering 22:18 [3] 1.7 km (13:07 / km) +25m 12:13 / km
weight:167lbs shoes: Inov-8 Trailroc 245

Trying to get the hang of this - without much success. Three mistakes.

orienteering 21:40 [3] 1.8 km (12:02 / km) +30m 11:07 / km
shoes: Inov-8 Trailroc 245

Only one true mistake, took it slower - had a bad fall: one of those where you are suddenly on the ground and can't remember how it happened. At minimum a bone bruise of right thumb. Picture to follow.

Simulated rogaine pace - Spackman Map. Do some math: 4.2km O covered = 16.8/km, likely an unobtainable/unsustainable pace for six hours. Planned 20 min./km seems reasonable = knotted string. Ratio of ground covered per O km = 3.17/2.61, or 1.21, so 1.25 not unreasonable. Obviously out-thinking myself here, but fun. Parts of lower Crum trails nearly washed out.

Hike 2:39:20 [4] 10.01 mi (15:55 / mi) +217m 14:55 / mi
weight:167lbs shoes: Inov-8 Trailroc 245

Really nice hike (with some jogging) with AnnieMac & HughMac4. Blessed am I. 79F & 54%. Camelbak. Started with 56oz, finished with 20oz and lost 3 pounds. Not at ALL heat prepared. Will have to take it easy in the 6hr ROGAINE next weekend if weather similar. Food for thought. Chigger bites did not annoy me during the hike - although, they are back now.
