MBO Score 2:03:58 [5] 32.58 km (3:48 / km) +631m 3:28 / km

Dark and White MBO Score, Castleton. First of summer event series. Arrived at Castleon 5 minutes before start so was too rushed to look at map beforehand, go to toilet or remember to put energy bar in bag. Started and finished well but had problems with hydration pack and map board fell off on way to futhest away control near Tideswell, so had to miss out highest scoring controls and spend ages getting back on track. Good fun riding as fast as I could down the broken road from Mam Tor to Castleton in the dark with no lights. Got 11 more points than last years Castleton Trailquest so happy with that, but should have 20 or at least 10 more points if didn't have mapboard problems. Thought it was a bit harsh having controls half way up both Pindale and Cavedale as both as steep and hard to ride.

Mountain Bike 1:30:00 [3] 22.7 km (3:58 / km) +474m 3:35 / km

Home to Stanage Pole via local downhill singletrack on way there and back via Hagg Hill. Rode all of first bit of singletrack this time.
Hagg Hill to Rails Road - out 8.44, back 5.33
A57 to Stanage Pole - up 29.10, down 12.40
Faster uphill by over a minute, but slower by a minute downhill by 1 minute. Only discovered on descent that the reason I was faster on way up was because of a strong tailwind, which was then a headwind for ride down.
