Mountain Bike 40:00 [3] 9.4 km (4:15 / km) +283m 3:42 / km

A rare tea time ride as girls were at circus. Managed to ride three steep downhill tracks that I have never had courage to ride before - single track behind St Antony's, bridleway behind St Antony's and bridleway at Carver fields. Added a quick pelt down and back up of the Coppice track. This made up for missing D&W trailquest at Eyam tonight.

Communte back home on Scorpio. Made it all the way up the hills again. Green flies everywhere, including stuck to my glasses.

Trailquest training using map from Open Orienteering Map. From Tinker Lane taking in Rivelin Valley, Crosspool, Stannington, Little Matlock, Walkley and Upperthorpe. Plenty of steep uphill and fast downhills. 1 hour time limit. Got to 9 controls out of 13. Got 127 points (130 - 3 for lateness). Made the early Sunday morning ride much for interesting and made me ride harder than usual. Good practice map reading while on the move. Made two big mistake by not paying attention to the map.
