White Downs. I'm tempted just to provide a back update and forget the orienteering ... But, for the record, I missed 2 at the first attempt and so tried to use the map to relocate but found the vegetation mapping (which is all there was) as good as useless and ended up bumbling (in the company of many more). Lost 5 mins before heading out to the track and back in to the holly. But 3 was even worse. Got through the holly and found the fence, but I was 200 metres further along than I thought I was, and I wasted 12 more minutes floundering in the unmapped undergrowth desperately looking for something I could relate to the map. Eventually CH told me where I was. Game over! Blew 3 more mins doing something similar in the holly at 6. The ONLY positive the strong run up the hill to 11.
Back was 'there' jogging to the start, but with one ibuprofen not really a problem running. Unless it was my physical state and not the grotty 'white' forest that made things seem so difficult? It was better after, and more sore the next morning, but felt a bit stronger than it has for a while.
