Trail race race (Chichester parkrun) 22:30 [5] 5.0 km (4:30 / km) +80m 4:10 / km
weight:74kg

Depressing week capped by a disastrous run. Actually felt like stopping. Just had nothing to give. Given my knees are struggling to get up the stairs, I suppose I shouldn't have been surprised. Until my back/hips are sorted - and walking hasn't worked - there's seems little point in putting myself through this.

Walk (Monarchs Way) 6:30:00 [3] 30.0 km (13:00 / km) +530m 11:57 / km

Got the 845 to Halnaker then walked back up to Goodwood to resume Monday's walk. Followed MW through Eastdean Park, Trundle, West Dean, Stoughton Down, Walderton and Stansted Park to Rowlands Castle. Train home via Havant. All pretty familiar, and by far the best of the Monarch's, but the blue skies and skylarks undoubtedly helped. Passed Ian Barnett and James Baker, both training very hard and looking impressive.

Walk (Monarchs Way) 8:00:00 [3] 39.0 km (12:18 / km) +570m 11:28 / km

Got two trains and a bus back to Findon, then followed MW through some very familiar terrain via Angmering Park, Arundel Park, Houghton (Forest), Bignor Hill, Stane Street, Eartham Forest and Selhurst Park to Goodwood Winkins, where I turned south (in the thickening dusk) to Halnaker crossroads and the 55 bus back to Chi. Very cold start and finish, but at least the frost helped in places with the mud. Joined by Jan for Arundel to Whiteways.
