Been 15 years apparently. Minus the odd Fun Run League Race. Avoided parkrun because of hard workout on Thursday, and fancied this anyway. Wind made running difficult though. Lost almost 2 mins on 4-5 and couldn’t find 9, but it might have been in the wrong place. Sort of settled down after that, but hr in the low 140s was about the limit of my comfort zone. I wonder if the stress of flag finding contributes? GPS climb figure was almost 200m.

Punctured with 200 metres to go. Fixed that then battled rain, wind, traffic, tractors, mud, spray for the ride home.

Slightly quicker on the uphills (2.15) and slower on the downs (2.45), which is as it should be. Some fatigue from Tuesday. Best of all is I've got my bike back.

Was only going to do 4, but felt good! 5 x 500m hill reps with easy jog recovery. Proper running, with knee lift and arms; not the long slow shuffle I've come to rely on. Each rep about 2.20 up and 2.40 down. Best of all was the feeling of recovery halfway through the downhill, setting me up nicely to go again.

to Hargroves, with a snapped rear derailleur gear cable. At the risk of their needing the bike for the rest of the week I asked them to replace the chain and rear cassette as well. Would probably have taken car for next two days anyway as weather is pants.
