Monday Jun 30

Core Strength (legs and abs) 7:00 [1]

Sunday Jun 29

running (trails) 1:12:00 [3]
shoes: Trail Pegasus 2
With Wendy, fells. Hip a bit sore part way through, quad okay. ITB tender later, but not awful.
Core Strength (abs) 4:00 [1]

Saturday Jun 28

running (treadmill) 48:00 [3]
shoes: Pegasus 3 wide
Watching Wimbledon. The time flies by! Only a teeny bit stiff today, after a very good stretch last night. Good stretching today too - hope it helps.

Friday Jun 27

Core Strength (abs, arms & legs) 25:00 [1]

Thursday Jun 26

running (treadmill) 45:00 [3]
shoes: Asics 2130
Mid morning. Didn't push it (not faster than 7:48 pace). Felt fine.

Tuesday Jun 24

running (treadmill) 40:00 [3]
shoes: Pegasus 3 wide
Morning. Felt good, pushed a bit.

Monday Jun 23

Core Strength (abs) 5:00 [1]

Sunday Jun 22

running (trails) 1:05:00 [3]
shoes: Asics 2130
With Wendy, felt fine except uphill.

Wednesday Jun 18

running (roads) 30:00 [2]
shoes: Asics 2130
Overslept, ran 'backwards' around the loop until I met Debby and David.

Saturday Jun 14

orienteering (trails) 42:00 [2]
(injured) shoes: Trail Pegasus 2
Checking some of tomorrow's courses. Felt pretty tired. Knee (outside R) hurting - more at the start, less later.

Friday Jun 13

orienteering 20:00 [1]
shoes: Trail Pegasus 2
Course setting with Dad at Menotomy, including up the hill for the street-0. May have been more actual running time, but it was very stop/start.

Wednesday Jun 11

running (treadmill) 25:00 [2]
shoes: Pegasus 3 wide
Couldn't do early am after not falling asleep until midnight (due to heat and humidity I think). So I did 6:15 am instead, but had to go on the treadmill as Andy was about ready to leave for work. It was all I could squeeze in.

Note: grades due for one school on Monday, and the other school the following Monday. Probably will have to train less until they are done. Oh to be independently wealthy and not have to work!

Monday Jun 9

Core Strength (abs) 2:00 [1]
Pathetic attempt to do some sit ups. TOO HOT!

Sunday Jun 8

running (trails) 1:00:00 [2]
(injured) shoes: Trail Pegasus 2
Hot and humid, even at 7:30am. With Wendy. Felt strong, but my leg went at about 20 minutes. Same sequence: inside part of quad, then whole quad, then ITB. Slowed, stretched ... but it didn't really go until I stopped running.

Saturday Jun 7

running warm up/down (treadmill) 35:00 [3]
shoes: Pegasus 3 wide
Watching the French Open Women's Final. Excellent distraction, reasonably good match (Ivanovic in straight sets). Surely tomorrow's men's final will be awesome though.
running intervals (treadmill) 15:00 [4]
(injured) shoes: Pegasus 3 wide
Fartlek. Sped up for a few minutes, then slowed, then did a hill ... and then the right leg went.

First it was the inner part of the quad, then around the outside of the knee, then the whole ITB. Yuck. Slowed down thinking it might ease off, but it didn't until I walked at the end.

It is so frustrating to feel good, strong heart, strong lungs, but have one part of one leg prevent me from doing what I want to do. Will stretch well and use the foam roller tonight ... then we'll see how it is on my longish trail run tomorrow am.

Yuck.

Thursday Jun 5

Note
(injured)
ITB is tight after yesterday's speed work.

Wednesday Jun 4

running warm up/down (roads) 50:00 [2]
slept:6.0 shoes: Asics 2130
AM started with Debby and David. Nice to get out with them.
running intervals (track) 12:00 [5]
shoes: Asics 2130
Belmont Hill track. First 2 counter clockwise, last 3 clockwise.

5 x 400 with just over 1 min walk/jog rest.

Felt hard ish, but not fast. Better than I though for the first track work in ages ... and at 6 am (but with a good 30 min warm-up). Should've stretched more and done a 6th, but had to get home so that Andy could leave for work.

ITB okay during, but then right leg seized up on the way home. I am so ready for this injury to be gone. This summer I must find someone who can actually solve the problem.

Used the foam roller after, we'll see if it recovers fast.

Monday Jun 2

Core Strength (pilates) 20:00 [1]
Not sure I liked this particular video. Too many exercises, not enough of each. And a little too fast sometimes, then other times too much talking.

I'll see what else the library has to offer.

Sunday Jun 1

running (roads and trails) 42:00 [3]
shoes: Asics 2130
Felt sleepy, but not slow somehow. Did some good hills.
