We would have a nicer garden if we didn't spend so much time running and orienteering on weekends ... just for this weekend the gardening won. | ||

| Felt tired, then later in the day, sick. Yuck. Not a fine way to start the marathon prep. Ah well, it is only week one. Back sore too, but the good news is that the Dr says it is just muscular, and that it is probably more due to having little kids than the running. More sit ups, more Advil, more heat pad, more stretching ... and more sleep, I think. | ||

| Okay, I didn't mean to have 3 days off, but life has taken over this week. I am now an employed person as of September though!
Noticed as I stepped on the treadmill at 5:40am that my back did not hurt. Guess the three days off was good for it. I was hoping that running wasn't the problem!!!!! We'll see how it goes tomorrow. I need to replace these shoes soon. Probably the Sauconys too .... | ||

| Nice morning. Warmed up pushing Bridget in the stroller, and chasing Ethan in the 1 mile fun run ... but couldn't catch him!! | ||

| My pacer went out too fast :-) Trouble is, he maintained it and I didn't! Splits were something like 6:12, 12:38, 18:53, then I get a bit blurry ... I think the last mile was faster than the 4th, so 25:30 ish?? I definitely felt like the 4th mile was nasty. And some guys I had passed earlier passed me. My right leg was tight, and my back too. Not sure what to do to get through it ... more core strength!
But overall, a good race. Got under 32, which was the goal. Weather was nice - high 70s, but not humid. Next race is the Cranmore Hill Race ... which will be a bit slower!! | ||
