5 x Menotomy Street hill. Definitely not feeling like this is my strength right now ... which means I need to do more of it. Felt pretty good for 6am though. Stretched well afterward too.

With Wendy, and Ian for some. Felt SO much better than last Sunday. Legs still felt strong, if tired, at the end. Much easier to do it on trails with a buddy ... hopefully I won't have to do more than one of the 20 milers on my own ...

Clay Pit Pond laps. Nice in the shade. Warm today, but not humid. Stretched well before the session and after.

3:08 (2:24), 3:09 (2:37), 3:09 (3:14), 3:09 (3:37), 3:07.
Very steady, felt hard at the end, but overall very controlled. Please with the times, which I think is equal to sub 3:00 in lane 1. Faster than last year!

Trail to Fresh Pond, 2 laps, then back through Belmont Center, Pleasant and Gray St. I think it was about 14 miles, which was about the right pace. 90 degrees and humid didn't help much. I definitely have a ways to go before I'm ready for a marathon!

9am. Humid. Felt okay, but right quad definitely has issues. Resting yesterday seems to have helped some.

Cranmore Hill Climb (twice). About 6 miles total. Walked much of the hill, as did almost everyone else. I didn't realize that I would be so (relatively) fast on the downhill. Passed loads of people going down on both laps, and had a ball! Of course 24 hours later I can barely walk, but never mind.
Can't imagine having done this race in trail shoes, which most folks seemed to be wearing. Fell shoes were perfect. I bet they were worth quite a few minutes on each lap.

2pm. A & B sick. Didn't feel bad, but felt a bit drained. Decided not to push too hard.

Only got pulse to 165, but it felt hard and I felt weak. Yuck. Pace was okay though (got under 6:30)

Warm up and down. Early am, and already humid.

4 x .25 mile hills at 10% with about .3 recovery. Felt hot and slow, but then again it WAS hot and it WAS 6am.
Missing running outside. Ethan to camp in the mornings in another 10 days, that should give me some chances to get out more.
