Saturday Dec 31

running (trails and roads) 40:00 [1]
shoes: trail pegasus
With Dad, exploring the trails around Kearsarge. Snow on the ground, but not too slippery. Some hills too. Felt pretty good, toe seems fine.

Friday Dec 30

running (roads) 1:04:00 [2]
slept:6.0 shoes: Asics 2100
Finally got out for a run - 5:30am. Felt great. Foot didn't hurt, no headache or sore throat (though they seem to be coming back now), good company for the first 40 minutes ...
Feeling motivated again, and ready to find a race to run!

Monday Dec 26

running (roads) 56:00 [2]
shoes: Asics 2100
Foot only somewhat painful. Have been doing lots of pointing, flexing and curling to strenghten and stretch it. It seems to be working.
Good pace for this run, rain and ice made it tricky toward the end. Up quite a few hills too. Meant to go longer, but the dark and weather made Ady and me decide to shorten it a bit.
Core Strength 10:00 [1]
Best core strength I've done in ages. Have to get it started again, my abs are feeling whimpy.

Saturday Dec 24

running (roads) 39:00 [2]
shoes: trail pegasus
7am. Felt good. With Debby, fairly speedy today.
Foot hurting a lot. Before, during and after.

Friday Dec 23

running (roads) 41:00 [1]
shoes: Asics 2100
With David, 5:30am. Very warm (31 degrees) for this time of year. Foot (right metatarsal and big toe) hurting a lot. Need to find out what is going on, and to get some pads.

Tuesday Dec 20

running (treadmill) 42:00 [2]
shoes: Asics 2100
Would have gone further if I'd had more time. My legs were really needing a run and I felt great! Pace was about 7:20 most of the time.

Saturday Dec 17

running (Roads and snow) 52:00 [2]
shoes: trail pegasus
With Ady, in Kearsarge. Took a bit to get going (down hill start helped). Foot not too bad today. Very amusing on the trail up to the water tower in 8 inches on unpacked snow ... definitely got the pulse up!

Friday Dec 16

Note
(injured)
Big toe/metatursal very painful. I'm giving it an extra day off (after yesterday, which was a planned rest day) ... the pain is gradually diminishing and I don't want it to get worse again.
C • big toe? 2

Wednesday Dec 14

running (roads) 42:00 [1]
shoes: Asics 2100
Cold! Still quite a few runners out this am ...
Right big toe (related to metatarsal I think) and left knee both niggling. Yuck. Maybe time for a day off tomorrow.

Tuesday Dec 13

running (treadmill) 1:42:40 [2] 12.0 mi (8:33 / mi)
slept:8.0 shoes: Pegasus 2
Didn't feel great, but kept going anyway. I thought it should feel easier for the pace ... but either I am tired, or I have lost a lot of fitness.
Good thing I have a television in front of the treadmill - otherwise it would be impossible. And the roads are not in great shape right now, which makes it feel less safe. Plus it was about 58 degrees in my basement and 18 outside.
C • knee or shin pain 2

Monday Dec 12

running (roads) 41:00 [2]
slept:5.25 shoes: Asics 2100
Sidewalks are a bit lethal this am!

Sunday Dec 11

Core Strength (abs) 4:00 [1]
Arms too sore from skiing to work them much!

Saturday Dec 10

Nordic Skiing 47:00 [2]
slept:7.0
Along the trail, and twice around The Res. Wish the walkers would quit walking in the ski track!!!!!
I felt quite uncoordinated and out of shape for skiing. Don't think my heart rate went very high, but my arms, pecs, and quads all felt it!
A beautiful morning!!

Friday Dec 9

running (roads) 41:00 [2]
slept:6.0 shoes: Asics 2100
With Debby, before the snow started!

Wednesday Dec 7

running (treadmill) 33:00 [1]
slept:8.0 shoes: Pegasus 2
Took 20 minutes to warm up, then I felt great, but the kids were awake and so I had to go be a parent.
C • marathon 1

Monday Dec 5

running (treadmill) 33:00 [1]
slept:5.5 shoes: Pegasus 2
Bad night of sleep, due to a little night visitor.
Decided to run anyway and felt fine once I warmed up. Got to 7:30 pace happily after about 20 minutes.

Sunday Dec 4

orienteering 1:32:00 [2]
Okay, so it was 92 for the race, plus more than 5 for the warm up ... but I figure that it cancels out the more than 5 minutes of the race that I spent standing still or wandering aimlessly (and slowly).
My mind was definitely not in it today, though I did enjoy it. It felt like a lazy training run rather than a race, which, I suppose, it was.
Still in marathon mode though: 90 minutes and I felt like I was only just warming up!

Saturday Dec 3

running (trail and road) 43:00 [2]
shoes: Asics 2100
Around the Res a few times, beautiful morning. Felt fabulous, after 2 days off ... the second one unintended. My legs were twitching for a run!
