3 miles at 6:44 pace. Feeling not quite up to 6:39 pace (next option), but actually felt fine from about half way through, so next time I'll warm up better and try faster. Supposed to be 1/2 marathon pace ...

2 x 800m with 200 recovery. The first 800 was straight out of the tempo run, which was easier than I thought it would be. 3:08 pace.
Then 4 x 100m strides, which are not quite right on the treadmill, but still did get my feet moving fast at least. Wish the thing could decelerate more rapidly!!

11:30am - hot and sunny! With Andy, while Ethan played on the field (and then ate his snack under the bleachers).

4 x 1600m w/400m recoveries. Supposed to be at 1/2 marathon pace. I was aiming for about 6:42.
6:38, 6:38, 6:33, 6:42.

Felt easier than I thought it would, especially the first two. Then it got hot!

6 x 200m with 100m recoveries. Aiming for just over 40, but really just focused on form and drive: 40, 41, 39, 39, 38, 39.

With Andy and Ian, 9am. Not hot, but very humid. Poison Ivy dodging around Belmont - lots of trails very overgrown due to the heat and rain combo. It will be nicer in about November!

Tried to go to the track, but it was locked. Have to contact the school to find out what is up with that. So I had a long warm up, and then did the workout on the bike path.

3 x roughly 1 mile, supposed to be at half marathon pace (aiming for 6:40-6:50). With about 400m recovery. Felt pretty awful before, and after. But not so bad during. Just slow. Last one felt best.

4 x 200m roughly. I actually felt okay doing this, and my legs did move faster than the cruise intervals. So I am not in a bad place to start 1/2 marathon training, I guess. Feeling pretty tired now (2 hours later), but virtuous.
