Wednesday Jan 31

Core Strength (arms, abs and back) 16:00 [1]

Tuesday Jan 30

running (treadmill) 29:00 [2]
shoes: Pegasus 3 wide
Very tired tonight.

Sunday Jan 28

Nordic Skiing 1:30:00 [3]
Actually it was about 45 minutes before lunch and 45 after. Some of it was intervals ...
It was a great day at the New England Women's Ski Day - clinics, LLBean gift cards, loads of neat women who are great skiers ... and Joan Benoit Samuelson handing out raffle prizes (which I didn't win, alas). Definitely inspiring! My biggest claim to fame was that I knew Sara Mae and Larry ... EVERYONE seemed to know them (or Sharon ...) :-)

I really like the color in my log ... wish there were snow in Boston, so I could have more pink on my graph.
Note
Watch my log jump ... I have decided to run a 10 mile trail race in April, and I have a training plan. In fact, I have a plan to get a score (6 races) in the Grand Tree Trail Race series ... anyone else out there going to join me? Peter? Sam?

Saturday Jan 27

Alpine Skiing 45:00 [1]
Got some grown-up time today, so I got more of a workout. Great conditions in the morning, not so great by the end of the day ... but the sun came out and it warmed up.
Core Strength (abs and back) 5:00 [1]

Wednesday Jan 24

running (treadmill) 40:00 [3]
shoes: Pegasus 3 wide
Morning. Not too bad.

Tuesday Jan 23

running (treadmill) 35:00 [3]
shoes: Pegasus 3 wide
Evening. Felt tired.
Core Strength (abs) 2:00 [1]

Sunday Jan 21

Alpine Skiing 1:00:00 [1]
Skied harder today, and more. Some good conditions, beautiful blue sky, great views ... ahhhh.

Saturday Jan 20

Alpine Skiing 40:00 [1]
Felt somewhat tired - but more just cold! Very windy at times - but still great to have gradually improving conditions. Got a few good grown-up runs in.

Friday Jan 19

Note
(sick)
Feeling more human today. Still less than excited at the idea of food. But I am eating again.

Thursday Jan 18

Note
(sick)
Blood sugar low from eating nothing all day yesterday. Still don't feel like eating much today either. Sleeping lots. All day long basically ...

Wednesday Jan 17

Note
(sick)
Started at 12:30am. Not pretty. I don't like stomach sicknesses.

Tuesday Jan 16

running (treadmill) 35:00 [3]
shoes: Pegasus 3 wide
Was going to go outside, but combine the very dark nasty cloud that appeared, and the fact that 9am is prime dog walking time (WAY too many dogs, and too few owners, and too few leashes) in the park, I opted for the treadmill.
Mostly about 7:40 pace. I am trying to get it to be mostly 7:30 on steady runs, but I just wasn't feeling that sharp this morning.
Core Strength (abs back and arms) 14:00 [1]
weight:125lbs
Okay, is this a big AP sin? I am logging this before I do it ... but I really am off to do it now, I just want to turn off the computer first. Honest.

Note on weight: only up a couple of pounds from racing season. Unbelievable with all the sweet stuff I've been eating. I've been doing more speed work than last winter, and I think it is helping.

Sunday Jan 14

running long (trails and roads) 1:35:00 [2]
shoes: Trail Pegasus 2
10am. Drizzle the whole time, but it was actually a really nice morning. VERY peaceful in the woods.
Kept the pace easy today, and found it easy for the whole distance.

Saturday Jan 13

Core Strength (Elmocize!) 20:00 [1]
Yeah, it sounds corny. But I was drenched in sweat and I got my heart rate up to 110 at least once. Key thing is to keep dancing through all the talking bits.
Of course Bridget loved that I did the whole thing with her. PD and Nadim take note! I'll expect to see Elmocizing in your log in the next few months
:-)

running warm up/down (treadmill) 25:00 [3]
shoes: Pegasus 3 wide
9pm! Very late. Everything kept going wrong. Twice the treadmill cut out as the incline went up ... then I realized the cord was trapped, so it was pulling out of the wall. Then near the end I bumped the safety magnet and it stopped again. Too tired, I guess. But of course the run left me wide awake and up until midnight.
running hills (treadmill) 15:00 [4]
shoes: Pegasus 3 wide
A new custom program - we'll see how it feels when I get more fit. Right leg got so tight that I had to slow way down. Yuck.

Thursday Jan 11

running (treadmill) 42:00 [3]
shoes: Pegasus 3 wide
Watching Scrubs. Too hard to laugh and run on the treadmill ... but worth it.
Mostly between 7:30 and 7:45 pace. Felt okay, not stunning.

Tuesday Jan 9

running warm up/down (treadmill) 20:00 [3]
shoes: Pegasus 3 wide
Mid-day. Bridget (sick) asleep, woke up half way through the tempo bit ... so got to finish my workout to 'Bob the Builder' ... could be worse.
C • Bob... 3
running tempo (treadmil) 20:00 [4]
shoes: Pegasus 3 wide
Not feeling as strong today, but not bad either. Lowest pace was 6:22, and that was for nearly 5 minutes of it ...
Core Strength (abs, back and arms) 12:00 [1]
Boy did I feel wimpy. Arms are going to be sore tomorrow. But I am making my target of at least 10 minutes a week for January.
C • Wimp! 2

Sunday Jan 7

running long (trails and roads) 1:30:00 [3]
shoes: Trail Pegasus 2
Around the various bits of Belmont. A gorgeous day as long as I didn't think about it being January. Felt really good until about 75 minutes. Time to start increasing the long runs by 5-10 a week until I get back to 120min. No specific goals for 07 yet - marathon in the fall ... in the summer hopefully a lot of trail and hill races ...

Friday Jan 5

running (roads) 43:00 [2]
shoes: Asics 2100 - 2
Early am. Got it done! Ridiculously warm.

Thursday Jan 4

running (treadmill) 50:00 [3]
shoes: Pegasus 3 wide
Watching Deval Patrick's innaugural speech. Took a bit to get going, but then was around 7:20 pace for most of the second half of the run. With some hills, felt very comfy today ... two days rest will do that I guess.

Wednesday Jan 3

Core Strength (abs) 2:00 [1]
If Nadim can log '45 sit ups' then so can I ;-)
C • Don't 1

Tuesday Jan 2

Core Strength (Abs, back and arms) 10:00 [1]

Monday Jan 1

running warm up/down (treadmill) 26:00 [2]
shoes: Pegasus 3 wide
running tempo (treadmill) 24:00 [4]
shoes: Pegasus 3 wide
Bit of a stomach bug, but I did warm up eventually. Most of it was at 6:22, some at 6:18.
