Wednesday Oct 31

running (roads) 42:00 [2]
shoes: Asics 2100 - 2
AM run as usual.

Tuesday Oct 30

running tempo (treadmill) 10:00 [4]
shoes: Pegasus 3 wide
6:15am. Still a bit early for this sort of thing. Got down to 6:29, but not for much of it. Under 7 though. Did our custom program, which has a couple of hills up to 5%.
running warm up/down (treadmill) 20:00 [3]
shoes: Pegasus 3 wide
Actually it was probably a little more tempo and a little less wup/down. I tried to speed up very steadily. No pain, though IT band feels a little annoyed 12 hours later. Barely noticeable though.

Didn't wear orthotics during the day today. We'll see if the PF is less tender in the am.

Looks like no Assault on Mt Hood for me after all. That is the only sensible weekend to go up to NH. Cranmore officially opens then ... wonder if there will really be snow?

Sunday Oct 28

running (trails) 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: Asics 2100 - 2
With Wendy in the Fells. Perfect fall day. Felt a bit tired at first, then better. Next week a bit longer ...

Have decided to run the Assault on Mt. Hood on December 9th. Pint glasses instead of t-shirts, and they fill it for free afterward (once). Brownies too. Oh, and the course is fun - 3.5 miles on a golf course.
So now I will start doing a bit more fast stuff - hopefully with no adverse consequences!

Friday Oct 26

running (roads) 42:00 [2]
shoes: Asics 2100 - 2
Early am, nice and cool. Felt tired.

Wednesday Oct 24

running (roads) 42:00 [2]
shoes: Asics 2100 - 2
The usual. Good company. Very early.

Monday Oct 22

Core Strength (abs and legs) 5:00 [1]
Did a bit, then got bored. Ho hum.

Sunday Oct 21

running (trails) 41:00 [3]
shoes: Asics 2100 - 2
With Wendy. Felt unfit and slow, but did eventually warm up and feel slightly better.

I think yesterday's long rehearsal took a lot out of me. I'm not going to increase mileage much more until after the play is over (11/15 and 11/16). It will probably be best for my feet anyway.

Friday Oct 19

Core Strength (legs and abs) 20:00 [1]

Thursday Oct 18

running (roads) 42:00 [2]
shoes: Asics 2100 - 2
Another am run. More tired than yesterday.

Wednesday Oct 17

running (roads) 42:00 [2]
shoes: Asics 2100 - 2
Am with Debby and David. Nice to have it done!
running (trails) 12:00 [2]
shoes: Asics 2100 - 2
Pick your own at CSA pick-up (even though they hadn't advertised any for this week). I was very late, so I ran all the way out to the raspberries only to find there really weren't any left. So I had to make up for it by picking TONS of hot chilli peppers (which were falling off the bushes). Then ran back again.

Not logging the lugging of many many pounds of veg back to the car - though it was a pretty good arm workout!

Tuesday Oct 16

Core Strength (abs arms and legs) 30:00 [1]
Boring, but I did it anyway.

Sunday Oct 14

running (trails) 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: Asics 2100 - 2
Time to start logging again. I'll do a little retro-logging to cover last weekend's race as well.

Perfect autumn morning today! Ran with Wendy in the Fells at 7:30am. About 45 degrees, sunny, no wind ... and I even felt okay. Time to be a runner again!
C • Yay! 1

Friday Oct 12

running (treadmill) 26:00 [2]
shoes: Pegasus 3 wide
Watched the Red Sox winning. Felt a bit tired, but not bad. Plantar fascia is a bit irritated on days when I have the orthotics in all day. I am being careful and stretching it frequently.

Wednesday Oct 10

Core Strength 20:00 [1]
Abs, and leg lifts. Feeling stiff still.

Saturday Oct 6

running race (roads) 49:28 [4]
shoes: Pegasus 3 wide
Hilly! I tried to keep the pace reasonable, but of course Wendy sent me off with lots of fast people :-)

A bit pathetic of Wendy to break her hand just so she could run the downhill leg instead of the uphill leg ;-)

Great to be a runner, if a slow, unfit one. And we won big apple pies, so a good day all around. And we picked apples. And I'll be back next year.

Splits: 4:15 (to the 7 mile mark from the relay handoff),
This year 7:18, 7:11, 7:50, 7:33, 7:15, 7:18, :43.

Last year (2nd half of the full 13.1) 6:51, 6:47, 7:16, 6:58, 6:38, 6:43, :39
