Another day where I didn’t feel like going out to do 10k. Really hard to find motivation for anything more than my standard 7-8km routes. Especially when it’s windy.

Didn’t go particularly hard today, with a simplified version of yesterday’s route until the Ridgeway so that I could double up and still finish on around 10km. Did the usual loops at the end because I could and the sprint finish, because it was the end of the run. Just shy of 11km so carried on it ticked over. The sprint finish is getting better, and it’s nice to get a bit of speed up as I’ve not done a lot for some time now.

Spent a lot of the day not wanting to run 10k so took a lot to force myself out. Taking it quite easy but seems the pace was good today - only really trying in the last k or so.

Lots of dogs getting in the way so down the cycle path was a little stop start. Making the most of daylight to come down here again as who knows when the lights will actually be fixed.

Definitely feel like running with people or somewhere else will be a lot easier. Maybe only another 2 months of this if we’re lucky!

Slightly shorter version of yesterday’s run as coming into the weekend. Good to get the daylight again.

Not a hard run but pace was pretty good and put a bit of effort into the sprint finish. No audience today.

HR looked to be about right whenever I checked. Could be because I charged it last night so it defaulted into “walking” mode rather than “running”. Before the latest lockdown I found that “cycling” gave better HR readings than “running” but assumed it was just fluke.

Normal shoes damp rather than sodden so back to them. Easier run today, mostly daylight as weather radar suggested heavier rain around 6pm (now looks to have tracked further east) - with the benefit that I could do the cycle track and see, and confirm the lights still aren’t working.

Watch had a bad spell early on. Funnily enough we’re back under 25% charge remaining. HR had a much longer bad spell - garbage for first mile despite lots of adjustments, but seems to have been broadly good from then on, much better than yesterday’s disaster.

I’ve taken to finishing with a sprint to the end of the road, which is a bit of uphill, and did a fairly good one today as trying to catch some runner in a yellow hi viz (didn’t as they had a 100+m head start...). Also someone dressed in running kit standing and talking at my finish point who I hope was suitably impressed; although as he was still standing and talking after I’d cooled down and done my stretches I guess he’s not so much of a runner!

Same route as Monday as it looked like the lights were still out on the cycle path.

Normal shoes still soaked from yesterday's outing and didn't have the enthusiasm to wear them so had to go with the slightly faster Nikes. Felt like I was putting in a bit of effort all the time but the difference in pace is quite noticeable.

Best not to look to closely at heart rate readings as it seemed much more "miss" than "hit" - if it was ever close to being correct at all. I wasn't going to stop to fiddle with it's positioning beyond loosening/tightening twice in the first k.

Weather forecast said it would be dry until 6 then rainy, but the reality was it couldn’t have been much wetter. Not too bad to start with but definitely noticed the rain, not that I could see it, whilst going down the cycle track - which after 200 yards was in the dark as the lights don’t work when the water gets into the electrics (and probably won’t work again until they fix it...)

A fairly miserable run from there on, picking the pace up on what was intended to get it over with - and did an out and back into High Cross to get the distance rather than usual wiggles. Took a lot not to sack off doing the Ridgeway and just come straight home. Rain got worse as it went on - and seemed to stop about 5 minutes after I finished. That’s why you should never pay attention to weather forecasts and just look at the radar data...

Out a bit later than usual so didn't bother with the cycle path loop today and did Ridgeway almost direct by Risca Road. A bit wet and cold so keen not to hang around. Lots of runners out, at least in the first mile.
