Orienteering - Urban 1:02:46 [3] 13.38 km (4:41 / km) +75m 4:34 / km
slept:4.0 shoes: Mizuno Wave Rider 24 Blk

Poor night’s sleep as the excitement and absurdity of Eurovision scoring made it hard to wind down. However, pleased that my Strava feed had such influence over the British public vote.

Fairly tired in the legs too so not going too well around Pittville Park, and was seriously thinking about just not trying at all and jogging around the course. But that’s pretty much what I did anyway.

Not caught by any traps and planning ahead fairly well, despite complication of map being spread over two sides. The long legs weren’t particularly difficult route choice - but did change my mind on 4-5 after starting to go north of the lake - main reason because I still remember struggling around on the XC races and wanting to do something different. This is the one leg from the first half I was leading on when I left.

14 onwards I was winning literally every split (before Dan Weaver) so either I started moving better or just tired less than the competition. Still found the lap of the park at the end long and tedious though!

Not able to hang around long after as judging the county track and field champs in Gloucester. Surprisingly enjoyable even in wind and rain. More chatter than I expected, and pleased that I won the bet we had for who would step inside the track on the U13M 1500m :-)

Nicer day today so easier to get out. Also running a lot better and no trouble apart from not feeling my foot for some of the second half.

Parked in Pandy and did a loop around Walterstone to tick off another new bit of Herefordshire. Sunny and warm, and some good views over to Grosmont and Garway, and the bottom end of Hatterall.

Sun still shining and again feeling bad about being back inside. Alas, weather might not be so good tomorrow when I may be standing around outside all day.

Another dreary day from home. It's really hard to *want* to go out now - I think winter in the dark was easier.

Still easy, and weather summer-y, so not doing much with my day off work. Join FoDAC/MonRoss on their reccee of Leg 3 of the Ross Round.

Pace was slow enough, but a lot of stopping which dragged out the time, and had to do a lot of looping at regrouping points to avoid getting cold. I wouldn't normally bother coming out to these but this is all new squares to me so ticks the right boxes.

Very windy coming back and had to put jacket on (and overheated as a result). Left the others at Richard Hammond's house and went back on my own so that I could eat and leave to get back in reasonable time.

Taking it easy, but taking it easy feels harder than running normally. Fairly windy, and fairly warm.

Did a decent amount of walking after, but still feeling a bit guilt being sat inside at 7.30 when it's still sunny given the next couple of days won't be so nice.

Track session - 6x 2 laps with 1/2 lap jog recovery. Said I want to take things easy, so did - almost a bit of a waste of a session but wanted to speak to a few people.

Still not really up to much, not helped by the strong headwind for first 4.5km. Struggling on hills and came close to walking at one point - so might slot a few easy days in for this week.

On the positives, foot was feeling much better for ditching the Pegasuses. At least these have conventional laces so I was able to adjust for arches.
