Taking the car out today, but body wasn't ready to go for some time so coincided with the hot part of the day.

Over to Rogiet to fill in a block of annoying squares that have been sitting empty for some time. Actually a nice route for a sunny day - and very quiet once off the B road.

A bit too hot so several stops to bring HR down and top up fluids - but when moving was going ok.

Bringing in the new pair of shoes as the train pair are now my third highest mileage road shoes ever (1340km - and still going ok), possibly up into 2nd by end of the month - we'll see. So will downgrade my current primary pair soon - even though they are still quite low on use (680km).

These are same as the others, just the cheapest colour - so fitted fine once laced up. Legs, however, still pretty broken from the miles yesterday, and the hours and hours of standing - so not so lively. But a definitely notable step up in performance with less worn-out shoes with a pretty good descent effort.

Rest of the run was trying to just keep going as too tired. After day of sunshine, this was during the sunny rain spell - so nice temperature. Latter part of the run, the lack of grip from the new rubber getting more noticeable.

Pewsey to Marlborough. A lovely route on a lovely day, but a few major caveats:
- I was meant to be somewhere else, but 45 minute train delay meant I missed the bus and only just got the Pewsey one.
- the run I started was southwards, but after committing to footpath instead of road up the hill, it was blocked after a km, same for next one - and doubling back and going round would make a long run even longer, and too long for my time - had to abandon.
- getting home made the trip out look trivially smooth.

Big climb up onto the hills, and never moving well again after that. Possibly dehydrated. If I knew I was doing this route would have gone opposite direction.

Mostly good surfaces, but some very wet bits in the wooded sections. Feeling the heat, and not liking the extra thick stiles.

Will have a break from trains for a bit so I’m not still totally fed up when in the office all next week.

Day off work, but weather forecast was for widespread storms across England so opted out of what I'd planned for the day. (The storms didn't come where they said they would - so I'd have been ok).

Alternative was to do Taff valley up to Merthyr to fill in the squares. A nice route, but my legs really weren't liking it early on. Loosened up and extended up to Merthyr when could have stopped at Pentrebach.

Axbridge urban. Quite a lot of running legs and my legs weren't up for running. Pushed hard along the reservoir on the way back. Struggled to read the map at 1:5,000 scale.

More delays with work on deadline day (ok, delivery day was supposed to be last Thursday morning but we only got our last inputs and lunchtime. We found out at 7.30 that some of the inputs were wrong so half of our deliveries didn’t happen. So rework tomorrow, and other fixes, and my actual job which also has key (delayed) deadline tomorrow. But I’m on holiday after 4pm so not my problem.

Straight from the desk after lots of sitting and eating, so never going to be running well.
