CYCLING/SPIN (NB - Sunset Beach) 2:30:00 [3] 28.0 mi (11.2 mph)

whipped out the old schwinn mountain bike and rode from newport beach to the end of sunset beach and back. fought head wind going north and got an easy breezy ride south. sunset was AMAZING. stopped by tunatown for some sushi. rode back in the dark w/out lights, cooolllldddd but fun!

ran 1st mile, hopped on a beach cruiser (cheap bike in case it got stolen) and rode 2nd mile, dropped bike and ran 3rd mile, repeat... tried this leap frog training with G. used bike miles to rest/slow down HR. it was sooo much fun! we need to do it again, maybe on a more hilly off-road course. this means we'll have to use our expensive mountain bike, riskay...

short warm up run before spin class. tried to loosen up right calf.

this was not comfortable, had to walk after 2nd mile, and 3rd! i notice that consistently in these past runs, the first couple of miles are ok, the 3rd, 4th, and 5th miles are often trying, and then 6th - 10th feels better the longer i run, why?

i think i need a slower warm up, then try to keep it in aerobic zone, i.e. somewhere between 142 - 153 HR and try to get faster from the base, without increasing HR.

note: right calf hurting...
