hiked the "little lakes valley" trail to gem lakes and back. this was one amazing trail, passed by 6 lakes; mack, marsh, heart, box, long and gem lakes. saw lots of trail runners, need to do that next time.

spent the day riding downhill @ mammoth park w/ G. had 3 crashes, 1 end-o (my first). bike will need some maintenance after this weekend, broken middle chain ring tooth, oil leaked front fork, very worn saddle, and melted grips.

where were all the girls? only ran into 3 on the trail all day. time/distance did not include gondola rides and lunch break. called it a day @ around 1:30p, maybe 2. G went for another 2 rides from the top.

rode lower rock creek with G, all singletrack, along the creek. we started from the bottom @ paradise, rode up to the top and back. the first 4mi climb was harder than i remembered. big boulders, loose rocks, and sand make a technical trail. the second half near the top was pure fun with lots of shade and beautiful scenery.

tempo run: 20min warm up, then 40min @ 7.0mph
legs started out wobbly, pains here and there, mostly on right leg. it took a good 20min to warm up but then they felt fine.
