A bit on the nippy side - waited until it warmed up to the upper teens before venturing out - getting to be a wimp.

Quite a few thin spots, which is what happens when you're coming off temps in the 50s for a couple days. At least we had a good freeze, so things are solid underneath - a few more inches tonight, so things should be much better into the coming week.

Gunstock is going heavy on being a ski-joring destination. Saw a GNA mom out training an energetic pup on the joy of running trails. Pup saw a couple skiers by the side of the trail, so stopped to say hi - in a spot where cover was thin so skier had to snow plow through the grit, leaves and sticks...
5 minutes later saw a group of 4 women out skiing, one with a dog in a harness walking right beside her - dog not quite understanding the concept yet of pulling the human.

Mtn Bike 28:13 intensity: (4:23 @0) + (7:49 @1) + (14:37 @2) + (1:24 @3) 3.93 km (7:11 / km) +51m 6:45 / km

Then out on the fat bike for a bit. First adjustment was to cover my forehead under the helmet better with the buff - extreme ice-cream headache going down the first hill - open spaces in the helmet channeling the frigid air to just the right spot for a brain freeze...
Snow was still not set up in some areas - front tire just start sinking into the fluff and when I tried to steer out of it, not solid enough underneath for any traction, tire just skidded out. Figured out how to read where the more packed lines were and stay on that or the thin areas - much different than reading the trail while on skis - avoid the thin spots, watch for ice and snow snakes.

Had on thicker gloves - army wool liners and black leather gloves - need to add hand warmers between the layers.
