Weeks woods - double loop run by headlamp. Moon starting to rise through the trees.
About 85% done and my headlamp dies - love those LCDs - from 100% to 0% in an instant. Minute of fumbling to disconnect the power cable and reconnect to the backup battery and off again.

Another good chunk of Hollis Town Forest done. Beautiful day out, saw quite a few walkers. Only got a few weird looks as I headed off trail into the forest.
Spooked one rabbit - seemed to be mid-transition to winter white fur.

Red BYOM Course at Beaver Brook. Nice course, cold weather.
Started a few minutes after Alar and a few minutes before Ernst. Didn't see either of them out there,
Imprecise on 2 - a bit left and low. Saw the lower 2 boulders, looked right and saw the flag. Big bobble on 5 - thinks I was a bit too high, went long, dropped down and circled in. Slow through the woods to the trail towards 6, then faster along the ride. To 8, should have gone more let after crossing the trail - went up and over the spur to the small trail, staying more left would have cut out that climb. IN from the corner of the trail - nailed it. To 9, almost got pulled right by a reentrant just past the clearing, but saw the ground to my right falling away steeper than expected. Corrected, over the top of the hill and in.
10 - a bit to the right at the cleared ride.

Checking out some of the further west part of Beaver Brook. In from the Jeff Smith trailhead. West side of the trail was mostly meh - thick small pines and not much relief in the terrain over to French Meadow. Brook Trail and Shoen Road section looks nice - more open and some nice terrain features.

Funky track - quite a few spurious points - when my watch said I'd gone 2 km in 20 minutes, with a fair amount of standing and slow walking, thought I'd cut it short and reset.

Track settled down. Lots of back and forth - some thicker area with very short sight lines. Trying to find and following the boundary blazes along part of the N edge - not quite sure where the corner is..
A fairly large section was most small dead pine, much of which had come down due to wind or ice. Mapped that with slash - good visibility, but slow to move through.
Also found some beautiful open sections.

Short semi-inspired run at RV Farm by headlamp. Ben called wanting to borrow the truck to pick up a dining room table for the apartment, so cut it short and headed home.

Headlamp run at Gunstock. Started out in the dark and it was still dark when I finished. With no moon, felt like I was running in a tunnel much of the time.

Bonus weather event - snow for the last 1/3 of the run - was coming down so hard that I had to take off my headlamp and hold it at waist level, so I could see past the reflection from flakes and bits zooming at me.

Up the Benjamin Weeks trail, clearing the rest of the waterbars along the way. Had to touch up some that I cleared earlier in the week, as quite a few leaves had already blown in. Trimming back wayward branches and juniper on the upper-most section.
Also trimmed back some stuff on the orange North Spur trail.
On the chilly side, but I warmed up nicely after about the 3rd (of 80) waterbars.
Arms, shoulders and back will be feeling it tomorrow.
