felt OK - reading the Wall St Journal as a distraction. Broke a sweat at least. Head felt OK.
| Note | ||
| Still popping advil and tylenol on a regular basis.
Head is now itching a bit, things must be healing. The staples aren't visible unless I move my hair aside a bit - but it is time for a haircut. Think I'll wait until next week when the staples are out. Just thinking about having the barber's clippers snag one of them makes me queasy. General concensus is that the staples look pretty cool - almost like a zipper.

| A so so day. Minor error at #2, then a major bobble (15+ minutes) in the boulder field. | ||

| Finished my run, took a shower and ready to head back and help with grilling then take a turn at the start /finish. But walking from the back of the car to the side and smacked right into a corner of the lift gate with my head. Hurt like hell for a minute or so, shook it off and finished packing. Noticed a drop of blood on my sleeve, then another, and another. Used a paper towel and got it under control.
Drove over to the pavilion and saw Lex - asked her how bad it looked. She said "off to the ER - you need stitches". Started feeling faint and nauseous. Got laid down on the ground and felt better. Was told that under no circumstances was I to drive myself anywhere. Caved in to logic, called Beth to meet me at the Exeter Hospital ER and to bring a son who could drive my car home. By the time we got to the ER, the bleeding had pretty much stopped, so no priority. Sat around for 3 1/2 hours, then got 9 staples to pull things back together. Fortunately, the gash is in the hairline, so it won't mar my devilishly good looks, at least for a couple of years when the hairline recedes back a bit.. The zipper stays in for a week.
